Church Planting

Why Start a New Church?

Church planting is the New Testament pattern for effective evangelism. It is the single most effective tool for making disciples in our cities and around the world. There are approximately 70 PC/G churches for Missouri's population of 5,750,000 people. That is one Pentecostal Church of God church for approximately 82,143 people.

Half of Missouri's 16 largest cities have no Pentecostal Church of God church. These cities include

Every new church planted represents another opportunity to preach the Gospel in the power of the Holy Spirit to those who may not have heard before, or don't yet have a relationship with God.

Church planting IS the heartbeat of God!

Get Started.

Know this, church planting is NOT for the faint of heart. It is for those who know both WHO they are in God, and WHERE they are going in God.

As a church planter, we will help you through the following.

Know WHO you are in God.
  1. Take the GiftQuest. This will help identify your areas of strength and weakness concerning your Spiritual Gifts.
  2. Take the "Unwrapping the Spiritual Gifts" Evaluation.
  3. Take the Pre-Assessment Profile.
  4. Take the Church Planting Proposal Questionaire.
Know WHERE you're going in God.
  1. Take the Harvest Imact Church Planting Tract (offered yearly at our intensive Ministry Training Week).
  2. Understand and develop each stage of Church Planting.
    1. Conception (Planning) Stage (3 months)
      • Develop your Vision-Strategy-Timeline.
      • Develop your Spiritual Covering (Local church/denominational affiliation).
    2. Pregnancy (Pre-Launch) Stage (9 months)
      • Build and blend your core team.
      • Develop your promotional materials.
      • Connect with your community.
      • Develop a budget and raise financial support.
      • Find and furnish a place to gather.
      • Develop and launch your outreach/small group strategy.
    3. Birth (Launch) Stage (3 years)
      • Plan and rehearse a series of "Launch Days".
      • Recruit a Volunteer Support Base.
      • Assimilate new members and leaders.
      • Celebrate positive milestones.
  3. Encourage and teach other church planters what you have learned.
