Recent Church Plants

We have planted 9 new churches in the SoMO district since 2003.  Each of these churches represents a chance to reach new people with the Gospel, and bring people into the Kingdom. If you are interested in finding out more about these plants, or how you can be a part of a new church plant, go to our Church Planting page or contact us.

2003 Church Plants

Abundant Life Family Church
Farmington, Missouri
Pastors Rick & Vicki Hensley

This congregation started with a core group of eighteen people, having fellowship and worship in a home. Their first Sunday worship service was August 17, 2003. In October of 2003, they leased and remodeled a warehouse building which has served as their gathering place ever since. Since that time, they have experienced steady growth, where they now have over one hundred in attendance on a given Sunday. Abundant Life has an active children’s and youth ministry and a vibrant men’s and women’s ministry.

Christian Life Center
Rolla, Missouri
Pastors Eddie & Karen Jones

Beginning with small groups in their home for eight months, Pastors Eddie and Karen Jones launched their first weekend service during April of 2003. At that time, approximately thirty believers gathered in a small building that seated only eighty people. On January 28, 2007, they celebrated the dedication of their brand new facility, which seats approximately four hundred. They currently have approximately one hundred and fifty people in attendance with fifty to sixty percent coming through conversional growth.

Outreach Pentecostal Church of God
Des Arc, Missouri
Pastors David & Connie Cowin

Beginning in a home, this congregation launched its first Sunday morning corporate worship service with fifteen people on August 31, 2003. Shortly after, they were able to purchase a building that had previously been used by a Jehovah’s Witness church and services continued. Since that time, a 24x30 addition has been added to the building as this congregation continues to grow and thrive.

2004 Church Plants

Church of the Nations
Columbia, Missouri
Pastors Bob & Debbie Kelley

Pastors Bob and Debbie Kelley planted a wonderful church on June 6, 2004, in Columbia, Missouri. Although meeting in an American Legion building, this growing congregation of one-hundred people has outgrown its gathering place and is currently looking for another. Recently, the church purchased twelve acres where it will eventually build a new worship facility.

2005 Church Plants

The Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God
Golden City, Missouri
Pastors Joe & Julie Woods

Under the leadership of Pastors Joe and Julie Woods, this new church opened on Easter Sunday, 2005, with forty-five people. Working with the Southern Missouri District PC/G, they purchased a small Catholic Church building and remodeled it into a beautiful house of worship. This quaint little church is now extremely appealing to this rural community.

2006 Church Plants

Destiny World Outreach
Republic, Missouri
Pastors Chad & Tosha Blansit

Exciting ministry is taking place in Republic as Pastors Chad and Tosha Blansit are already meeting on Sunday mornings with a congregation of approximately one-hundred people. They are currently leasing a “Community Center” in Republic, and as they like to say, they are having a blast living a “real life, with real people, serving a real God.” They are currently looking to purchase property of their own. Visit their website at dwospringfield.org

Spirit of St. Louis Church
St. Louis, Missouri
Pastors Tom & Darla Skiles

During 2006, Pastors Tom and Darla Skiles initiated their church plant at the Lindbergh High School. Beginning with Saturday launch services, they developed a core group of approximately fifty people with various outreach endeavors. Their main target group is sophisticated young people in their late twenties and early thirties. Currently, they are looking for a facility that will allow them to launch their worship service on Sunday morning.

Mountain Movers Church
Grove, Oklahoma
Pastors Brad & Misti Helton

Currently meeting in a home setting, Pastors Brad & Misti Helton have focused upon relationship building and children’s ministry. As founders of “Kid’s Club Adventures”—a dynamic approach to kid’s evangelism, they are connecting with a specific target group that allows them to have an open door into family life. Shortly, they will be leasing a facility to begin a “Day-Care Ministry” that will provide them with an opportunity to expand their discipleship-driven ministry.
